Around 1821 Peter Fisher bought land from Catherine Brant (widow of Joseph Brant) and began clearing the land. In the 1830’s he built a family home; Shady Cottage. He married 3 times and had many children. His third wife was Esther Webster.

Their son William Franklin Webster Fisher took over the farm. He cleared more land and added onto Shady Cottage. WFW married Sarah Allen

They had three children: Paul, Murray and Edith

Paul married Eveline Newham

and Murray married Nell Homer

Edith remained single and was beloved Aunt to Everyone

Paul and Eveline had four children: Jane Shepperd, Ann Cooke, Sally Alton and Peter Fisher

Murray and Nell had three children: Bill Fisher, Ellen Hoover and Phil Fisher
