“What … now we get a sign??” (or “haven’t you taken the picture yet??”) August 23rd 2017 2273 Dundas Street Burlington Ontario (Jeanne Bullock and Andy Fisher)
This is a blog to connect generations of family going back to the children of WFW and Sarah Fisher. Paul, Murray and Edith growing up at Shady Cottage in Burlington, Ontario were a family that had close ties to each other and the community. As the years passed and children and grandchildren came along and moved from Burlington to other parts of Ontario and beyond it was natural that our families did not see each other often. Aunt Edith was a common bond for many years and kept our families connected, in news if not in person.
Shady Cottage and Guelph Line Farm Home of WFW and Sarah Fisher and where Paul, Murray and Edith grew up
Since Aunt Edith died in 1991 (28 years ago) it seems we only hear news of our extended families, or see some of them, when there is a funeral. My dad, Peter, has spent a lot of time reading old letters, looking through pictures, memorabilia and family history. He has fond memories of the family picnics and reunions at Shady Cottage, and the latest at the Highway 5 farm in 1973. It is his wish that we have a family reunion and connect once more ourselves and our children and our children’s children to each other and share some memories and some of our common history.
This blog is intended to be a place to record family stories and pictures and a place to connect ourselves with our past and present and for the future

“It is not until much later, as the skin sags and the heart weakens, that children understand; their stories, and all their accomplishments, sit atop the stories of their mothers and fathers, stones upon stones, beneath the waters of their lives.”
